UniForum SA,announced recently that is planning to apply to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) for three new domains : .joburg, .durban and .capetown. Moreover,the company will also apply for .africa.Neil Dundas,Uniforum director, said that is hoping to launch the new .africa domain between February 2013 and April 2013,according to Myboradband.co.za. The domain will be priced at $18 per year.

“The dotAfrica TLD (top level domain) will bring the continent together as an internet community under one umbrella allowing e-commerce, technology and infrastructure to flourish,” said Neil Dundas,UniForum SA director.

As for the three other new domains,.joburg, .durban and .capetown,Neil Dundas said that they also hope to launch them in early 2013.The price will be more expensive than an .africa domain.
