Several days ago,we've learned that three Demonoid-related domain names,Demonoid.me,Demonoid.com and Demonoid.ph were put up for sale via Sedo,the world's leading marketplace .

The three domain names have been shut down a few weeks ago,after a DDoS attack ,that kept the site offline for a few days,and after a raid from the Interpol and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Even though Demonoid's users were expecting the site to return,after being shut down for facilitating the illegal distribution of music,the domain names have been put up for sale via Sedo .

However,Sedo has initially removed two of the three domain names,Demonoid.ph and Demonoid.com,citing possible legal issues associated with the domain names.Later,Sedo also removed the third domain name.

According to TorrentFreak,Sedo said :

"In addition to processing notice-takedown complaints from third-party rights holders, Sedo also employs an internal listing suspension policy when we're made materially aware of a domain that is either subject to ownership dispute or under investigation by relevant law enforcement."

"This is done to protect potential buyers from purchasing a domain where its use and ownership could be threatened after the purchase for unforeseen circumstances.In such situations, the listing user is informed and once they can provide documentation demonstrating the domain's clear title, the listing will be reinstated" a Sedo representative told TorrentFreak .

Demonoid had a tremendous success among the Internet users worldwide and was one of the world's largest torrent sites
